Country atmosphere beautiful grounds I did enjoy my stay here rustic
The place could use some updating but guess it gives the place a unique appearance. The place sits up high and has a wonderful view.
Dalem's has old-world charm and is perfectly located just outside of downtown Brattleboro--my room was spacious and comfortable. I booked a one-night stay but had an allergic reaction during that time and had to go back home. The owner was beyond wonderful about giving me a refund and was most concerned that I was a happy customer.
While this place maybe a bit dated as other reviewers have mentioned, it really is a unique place to stay. The view is spectacular and the prices are very reasonable for the area. If the dining room is open be sure to take advantage of it. The German cuisine is splendid and the atmosphere is quite unique. If you can only catch breakfast the french toast is a must try with real maple syrup.
Funky, old fashioned and sweet. Reminds me of places in the Catskills when I was a kid. If you eat at McDonalds and stay at Comfort Inn you probably won't appreciate the old school cool of Dalem's.
